Pollen Robotics Releases Microduck Open-Source Biped Robot
The 25 cm open-source biped features 15 actuators, sensors, and a grasping beak for reinforcement learning experiments.
Pollen Robotics released Microduck, a 25 cm open-source biped robot with 15 motors, camera, LiDAR, and grasping beak. The robot ships playable out of the box, while its open-source stack supports training custom behaviors via reinforcement learning in simulation and running them on the hardware. Hugging Face co-founder Thomas Wolf posted experiments including an image detector that lets the robot follow a laser pointer. Wolf also reported the robot selling one unit every five seconds and surpassing one million dollars in total sales.
