Jeff Dean and Colleagues Launch Discovery Loop
Four former Google researchers found a public benefit corporation to automate machine learning and science.
Jeff Dean announced the founding of Discovery Loop with Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals, and Quoc Le. The public benefit corporation's mission is to automate machine learning, engineering, and science. Google will serve as a founding investor and cloud partner. Khosla Ventures is also backing the venture. The four researchers are leaving Google after careers that included work on Brain, TensorFlow, TPUs, and Gemini. Discovery Loop's website states it builds AI systems to automate the experimental loops of science and engineering.
