Many users praised Tesla's FSD V14 Lite update for HW3 vehicles because it demonstrates ingenuity and delivers major capability gains on older hardware, while some voiced frustration through insults or reports of needing interventions.

FSD v14 Lite is now rolling out to AI3 early-access customers. Based on the feedback, will rollout to more customers over the next few weeks.
This build distills the driving behavior from AI4’s v14 series into both the camera and compute config of AI3. It includes destination options and speed profiles on city roads, but more importantly significantly improved safety.
We hope you’ll enjoy it, once the build ships wide.
Nice work by the @Tesla_AI team!
The AI3 computer only has ~15% of the effective memory bandwidth of AI4, so this was a tough challenge.
Drove Tesla FSD v14 Lite for an hour tonight on my M3 HW3 Tesla
WAYYY better than v12.6.4.
I know smoother is often the word used to describe a great build, but it just it fits for this update, very smooth.
Tested HWY, residential, and back roads. All great!
The parking feature worked exactly the same as using it with the Cybertruck. This v14 lite, on a HW3, feels as good as v14 to me on an AI4 vehicle.
Very impressive @Tesla_AI — superb engineering feat! Thank you again for bringing the older fleet up to par 🙏

v14 Lite Release Notes:
– Distilled the intelligence from HW4 V14 into HW3. This allows HW3 to directly learn how to handle scenarios using HW4 V14 as a guide. This process unlocks the improvements that have been made to HW4 including Reinforcement Learning (RL) and offline models for HW3.
– Improved both proactive and reactive responsiveness across a wide variety of categories including navigation handling, merges and forks, pedestrian interactions, traffic lights, and vehicle cut-in scenarios.
– Improved general comfort in nominal scenarios through fewer false slowdowns, smoother steering and more consistent lane centering.
– Introduced parking, unparking, and reversing capabilities.
– Added Arrival Options for you to select where FSD should park: in a Parking Lot, on the Street, in a Driveway, or at the Curbside.
– Speed Profiles are now available at all times, to further customize driving style preference.

@aelluswamy Thank you @aelluswamy for all you do!
Downloading now and I’ll be driving it all through the night to review it. You all are the best

@aelluswamy Shoutout to the whole @Tesla_AI team for getting it out before the end of the month!
Really impressive first few drives with FSD v14 lite!
Big leap in capability and feature set from v12.6.4, it’s tuned for safety right now so it’s taking things slow and smoothly.
Highway performance was notably great. More videos and a very long form review later once I get a few more hours of driving in.

@elonmusk @Tesla_AI LFG the takeover by Elon (a true patriot)

@aelluswamy Great work Ashok!
I plan to try a coast to coast in a AI3
@aelluswamy Thank you!
My eight year old robot is getting better tonight.
Awesome work!

@aelluswamy lfg. when 14.3.5 tho?

@elonmusk @Tesla_AI HW3 owners try FSD V14 lite be like 🤣

@BLKMDL3 @elonmusk Why can’t your cars have real, American car names? Like Impala, Mustang, Regal, Charger, etc etc.
FSD v14? Sounds like a venereal disease.
@Tesla cars are magnificent in every way but one. Come up with some creative American car names. 🇺🇸😁

@elonmusk @Tesla_AI Great work!

@aelluswamy This “early-access” stuff needs to end. Giving particular customers access before everyone else is broken. This kind of favoritism shouldn’t exist in a public company.

Thanks!
The first trip had plenty of room for improvement.
• Failed to recognize I was in the driver's seat (possibly due to spotty Wi-Fi)
• Risky turn into traffic, requiring acceleration
• Still reads the speed limit from an adjacent highway instead of the ego's road
• Panic braking for a pedestrian walking well within the shoulder
• Negligible difference between the lowest three speed profiles
• Parked on a too-narrow shoulder on the wrong side of the road (opposite from the pushpin)

@Tesla_AI Will it work on the intel HW3 too?

@elonmusk

@aelluswamy @SawyerMerritt Thanks for all you do Ashok! Looking forward to watching and reading the early reviews tomorrow morning when I wake up.

@BLKMDL3 @wholemars Is this for HW3 teslas?
